HOW TO JOIN

By becoming a member of RAFMAA, either full or associate, you will automatically become a member of the BMFA and will enjoy the benefits that our Association can bring. These include: access to fly on any RAF, Army or RN airfield with the Unit/Stn Cdr’s approval (this will be sought by RAFMAA on your behalf), support to your station club, entry into a range of aero modelling events and competitions throughout the year for different disciplines, attendance at and entry to the RAFMAA Championships held in September each year, voting rights at the AGM during the Championships and access to a variety of RAFMAA owned equipment and to our special discount scheme for your modelling needs.

NB: RAF personnel who are members of the RAF Sports Board Lottery can reduce their membership fee by £2 (i.e. Full = £39, RAFMAA only = £10)

 

To renew your membership you can either access the membership application form at http://www.rafmaa.co.uk/membership_form.htm and send it to me with a cheque at the address below or simply send me an email with the following details (and of course also a cheque via the post):

Name and Initial.
Work address and phone no.
Home address and phone no.
Email address.
Unit (i.e. the RAF base that you would usually fly at).
BMFA No.
Qualifications.

Please note that we ask for your work address so that I can post your BMFA membership card to you via the military mail system but only your civilian (i.e. home) address is passed to the BMFA. I will only use your phone number to contact you regarding your membership application if I don't have a valid email address.

Alternatively, if you contact the RAFMAA Treasurer, a form can be provided.

As soon as your completed application form and payment is received you will be covered by the BMFA insurance policy. Our year aligns with the BMFA and runs from January to December.

Your BMFA membership certificate will be sent directly to the address you provided in the application form.

For serving members, no military details will be released by the BMFA.

That’s it. It couldn’t be simpler so why not join or renew your membership in time for the new season starting in January?

(You can join at any time during the year and there are reduced rates if joining after July 1st, but you will only be covered until the following December. Membership thereafter is the normal annual rate. Please email the treasurer for further details.)
